Poly Systems Pty Ltd - Cups Canteen Heating Unit

Cups Canteen Heating Unit (Provisional Patent PQ4987) is a heating pack primarily for military and outdoor use with Cups Canteen to rapidly heat field rations and 'brews' without the need for a naked flame or slow burning heat tablets.

For use, the Cups Canteen is located on a 'seat' under which the heating pack is placed, being activated by a simple break action to allow water into the chemical mix. There is neither smell nor flame and the environmentally friendly, non-hazardous, inert chemical reaction pack may be disposed of on completion of use by burial at the site or carried out for later disposal.

Discussions with the Australian Defence Nutrition Research Centre indicate this project to be in the forefront of in-field food preparation.

Present Status
Trials are being carried out to identify optimum heat seat and heating pack configuration. Researched potential users are military personnel, bushwalkers and carriers of emergency survival packs.
