The RV2 Engine (Provisional Patent PQ7670) is a low cost engine technology designed to:

• reduce emissions
• increase efficiency
• reduce the number of moving parts
• reduce production costs
• increase the power to weight ratio
• increase reliability
• use a variety of fuel sources

 

These factors are achieved by:

• reducing moving and complicated design parts such as poppet valves and the complex head design to house and operate them, thus reducing production costs;
• employing low pressure rotary valves in the base of the cylinder walls;
• employing a variable compression ratio to enable a variety of fuel sources to be used at their most efficient rate (i.e. varying octane levels of petrol, gas, alcohol, diesel, hydrogen) with varying charged air induction.

Present Status

Development of the RV2 Engine design is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2004.
